You’re smart. You know the value of coupons. But did you know you can save even more? Use these undercover tricks to put even more money in your pocket. Cha-ching.
Don’t Get Mad, Get Even
Has this ever happened to you? You run into the store, coupon in hand, looking for that special deal advertised in the flier. What do you see? An empty store shelf of course. The store’s out of stock on that super low priced thingamajig you were after.
Instead of cursing to the sun about this trickery, this outrageous deceptive marketing. Stay calm. Relax – Relate – Release. Use the situation to your advantage.
Simply claim a rain check.
Here’s where you get even….
Wait until you obtain a manufacturer’s coupon for the same item. Now you combine the rain check with the manufacturer’s coupon for a super-sized discount!
Shelf Dispenser Trick
Perhaps you’ve come across a store shelf containing a coupon dispenser for an item you normally buy.
Most people take a coupon, purchase their item, and go along their way.
Not you. You’re a coupon diva. You know the deal. Stores are expecting you to use the coupon right then and there.
No you’re savvy. You know supermarkets never feature coupon dispensers with sale items. You’ll take a coupon (or two or three), tuck it into your pocketbook, and wait for the product to go on sale.
Then you’ll combine that dispenser coupon with the sale price for double savings!
Buy One, Get One Free Savings
We’ve all seen Buy One, Get One Free or BOGO sales. Yet despite the great savings, you can save more.
It all has to do with the way your particular supermarket rings up this particular type of sale. Some supermarkets charge full price for the first item, while the second item rings up for free.
Many supermarkets, however, treat a Buy One, Get One Free sale as a half price sale – essentially, each item scans at half its regular price. Here’s how you can use this to your advantage.
Combine a manufacturer’s coupon with each of the two sale items, instantly supercharging your savings.
Say for instance your favorite $4 box of cereal is on sale, Buy One, Get One Free. If your store is one that rings up the Buy One, Get One Free sale as a half price sale, you can essentially use a manufacturer’s coupon on each box of cereal. If your store is one that doubles manufacturers coupons you do even better!
Coupons are an essential part of your shopping arsenal. Use them wisely and you can double your savings while keeping more of your hard earned money in your pocket.
